A pedagogical version of AI4Green open-source software developed in the group of Jonathan Hirst at the University of Nottingham, UK. An electronic laboratory notebook for undergraduate chemists to support sustainable chemistry awareness, research data management and data analytics.
Solution
The platform provides a structured workflow for students and instructors to manage lab experiments from planning through to final reporting.
The platform includes a Reaction Builder for drawing compound structures, a Green Metrics Calculator to quantify reaction sustainability and integrated feedback tools that enable instructors to promptly provide feedback. Students work through literature reviews, experiment plans and lab notes and reports. The platform supports project type configuration with custom sections and fields, enabling different experiment workflows.
This work is supported by a grant from the Royal Academy of Engineering.
